Around the Valley of National park Triglav

The Triglav National Park covers the area of the Eastern Julian Alps, the highest point after which it is named is the peak of Triglav (2,864 m), and the lowest point is located in the Tolmin Gorges (180 m).

The Soča Trail leads along the Soča River into the heart of the Triglav National Park (TNP) in the Bovec region. The central information center of the Park in the Soča Valley is the Trenta House, where visitors can see the museum collection, exhibitions and photo projections.

The mighty fortress above the Koritnica gorge, one of the most visited cultural attractions in the Soča Valley, is an important monument of defense against Turkish invasions, Napoleon's army and attacks in World War I.

The story of the Kluže fortress is captured in extraordinary nature, between the steep slopes of Rombon, Slemeno and the emerald green, 70 m deep Koritnica gorge. Here you will feel and admire the drafts of the past, which marked this important strategic position, also called the Bovec Gate. The Kluže fortress is located 4 km from Bovec in the direction of the Predel pass.
